Incompetence.

I'm determined to get to grips with this podcasting thing and excited about Audacity... but after a full 15 minutes of trying, have still not even managed to plug the microphone into my computer successfully. The sad thing is that I knew in advance it would be this step that would trip me up.

    Sorted now (I have no idea what I did to fix it, but fixed it is).

    That's the way most tech problems get solved. You try various things, and then it works. And you've forgotten what it was you did...
